Frequently asked questions
The game
What is Beepout?
An arrow-escape puzzle with robots. Each piece is a little bot facing one direction. Tap a bot and, if nothing is in its way, it zooms off the board. The trick is the order: one bot often blocks another, so you need to plan which one goes first.
How many levels are there?
600 levels in 20 chapters, plus a new daily puzzle every day. Every level has been checked by a solver to make sure it can be solved.
What are the twists?
As you go, new kinds of pieces appear: long, winding bots that snake their way out; rotators that turn a bot's path as it rolls over them; keyed gates that open once the bot carrying the key escapes; teleport pads that send a bot out of a matching pad; and frozen bots that thaw when a neighbour leaves. Each one starts with its own short intro level.
What is the Bot Bay?
Your collection. Each chapter rescues a new species of bot, and every bot you rescue moves into the Bot Bay.
Is there a timer?
No. There is no timer and no move limit. You have 3 hearts per level; a blocked bot costs one.
Price, ads and privacy
Is it free?
Yes, Beepout is free with ads. Optional videos give you a hint or refill your hearts. Ads between levels start at level 10 and never appear in your first session. A one-time Remove Ads purchase is planned.
Do I need an account or the internet?
No account and no sign-in. All levels and the daily puzzle play offline. Ads and Game Center need a connection.
Is it OK for kids?
Beepout is rated 4+. When iOS reports that a player is under 13, the app shows no ads at all. See the privacy policy.
What data does it collect?
Your progress stays on your device. The app sends anonymous usage events and crash reports so I can improve it, and Google AdMob collects ad data as described in the privacy policy.
